A happy dog is confident & obedient dog
We all want to understand what our loved one’s need. It’s not different in our relationships with our dogs. Our dogs want to meet our expectations, and we want to make sure we fulfill their canine needs. We begin this process with basic obedience. Our dog begins to understand what we need from them in day to day life, and we learn to communicate clearly to our doggie family member. Basic obedience develops and enriches your bond.
Basic obedience begins with building your dog’s confidence. When we believe we are capable, we achieve the goals we set for ourselves. It’s no different for our dogs. When a dog is confident, they are less reactive and more focused. They begin to enjoy new situations and crave the intellectual stimulation of training.
Training continues in a variety of settings tailored to each pet parent’s lifestyle and mobility. It is best to train your dog in a variety of stimulating environments. Many trainers only train in their personal facility or at your home. This does not mimic the environment your dog will experience on family field trips to a grocery store, the park, a car ride, or the local pet store. We will train together in various environments of your choosing, close to your home. Training can also encompass building your dog’s ease in your car or comfort at the vet.
Our dogs are attuned to our emotional state. If we’re anxious when we’re out with our dogs, our dogs will pick up on this emotional state and mirror it. Therefore, part of our training is to help you achieve a level of comfort and calm while experiencing the world with your dog.
Basic obedience and confidence can be taught an any age. We’ve trained very senior rescues with no training background, to puppies just introduced to their new families.
Begin your training with customized 1:1 sessions in your home or public space. This training can be enhanced by attending basic group training class.
